Rick and the entire Studio USA team are incredible at what they do. I’ve had Rick personally shoot professional photos for me and my team, and I’ve also gotten to watch him work at events. There are plenty of people who can own an expensive camera and take a good picture. What makes Rick different is everything that happens before he ever hits the shutter button. I am definitely not someone who naturally knows what to do when a camera gets pointed at me. 😂 Rick has a way of making you comfortable, giving you direction without making it feel forced, and somehow getting you to look like the version of yourself you thought you looked like in the mirror that morning. For my branding shoot, he didn’t just ask where I wanted to take pictures. He took the time to understand what I was going for and personally identified several locations around downtown that he knew would work well for my brand. That level of thoughtfulness shows up in the finished product. Watching him shoot events is just as impressive. He somehow manages to be right in the middle of everything, capturing the candid conversations, reactions, and moments you actually want to remember, while simultaneously disappearing into the room. You never feel like there’s a photographer hovering over everyone or interrupting the experience. Beyond Rick himself, he’s built an awesome studio and an equally impressive team. You can tell he’s invested a lot into developing the people around him, giving them ownership, and empowering them to be great at what they do.
